What a night. Felt very proud to be part of the food community after tonight’s @obsfood #OFMAwards2019, hosted by the mighty Jay Rayner and the talented fabulicious @nigellalawson. Thank you Allan @allanjenkins21 and Molly @mollytaithyland, what you demonstrated tonight was how we can all truly celebrate the diversity, charity, invention and talent in Britain with pride. So many times I was moved by the stories behind a particular categories and winners. The posthumous award to the late great Andrew Fairlie, listening to @fuchsiadunlop tell the story of best newcomer Guirong Wei’s early years in Britain and her determination, the talent and spirit of young chef of the year Danny Wallace, Saliha Mahmood Ahmed @salihacooks best new cookbook award, the scholarship and understanding of lifetime achievement award winner Claudia Roden, and the many other inspiring winners tonight.
