Though I’d planned to go meet someone at @montys_deli in @markethallvictoria for lunch, that plan – alas – fell through. However, my husband @whitehouseofwhitehouse was baking for some of our friends who were coming for afternoon tea, so I got to be a guest at a party here. So that turned out to be a perfect replacement.
We cold-brewed #水だし緑茶 some #西尾製茶 @nishio.jinnichi 2019 organic green tea #緑茶 I’d bought at the #YanakaGinza market when Chiaki @kushimotochiaki, Miyuki & Megumi took me there last May.
It appears to be a blend of #Samidori #さみどり and another #大井早生 (I can’t translate, sorry) tea, perfect chilled on a hot day like today.
David brilliantly baked Ginger Spelt Cookies (2006 for #bacheldrewatermill flour packaging), Halva Flapjacks (2010 @guardianfeast), Stilton-crust sausage rolls (from 2012, written & tested “in the tent” when we were filming @bakeoffau, but here using @goodfoodau’s recent butter crust recipe for apple pies), and I didn’t have to do a thing, my champion hubby did it all.
Bruno had one of his top-grade tennis balls to destroy., so he was happy too.
