Tagetes are marigolds, and the leaves of some varieties have a tarragon-like flavour. Apparently in Aztec lore the #tagetes leaves were dried and ground into a powder and mixed with #Salviadivinorum used in a hypnotic shamanic mixture called #yauhtli.
So here I made a green pea and charred corn soup, flavoured with Ping the Herb Guy @lost.emperor’s #tagetes leaves chopped and mixed with sage, and spiced with chipotle, nutmeg, clove and slow-cooked onion. Then I fried the remaining tagetes leaves to serve on top. Very simple, #vegan, completely delicious.
