Spent this afternoon at @today_bread, a sourdough bakery in Walthamstow that I’m feeling regretful I didn’t get to earlier. I have known baker/artist Alex Bettler since 2005, online at least, but didn’t get to meet him properly until 2009 when he helped on the Dalston Windmill project, which transplanted #agnesdenes urban field of wheat from NYC to North London.
Right from the start Alex was clearly a brilliant bright soul, full of ideas for all the possible rare and wonderful ways bread and sourdough could be taken.
