Over-the-moon excited to be holding two baking demonstration days in Tokyo #Japan next month – one on English Afternoon Tea Baking (22nd May) & one on Sourdough Breadmaking (24th May) – organised by Hisaki Shintaku from @BritishPride Tokyo. The workshops will last 2 hours, where I’ll be demonstrating all the little tricks and secrets to help lift your baking game up.
????
The English baking class will include demonstrations on tarts & gingerbreads, cakes & pastries from my library of old English cookery books.
The Sourdough baking class will show how to make a sourdough starter, choosing flours, explaining autolyse and other techniques, how to get the dough texture you prefer and the crust that suits you.
And I’ll also be telling you more here on Instagram about the great baking talents in Tokyo & beyond. There are already so many fantastic bakers in Japan, it’s one of those countries that ceaselessly inspires you at every bite. One French pastry chef who was visiting said to me “every baker & chef should visit Japan, there is so much to dazzle here,” and it’s true.
