Marmalade History: next month’s #MarmaladeFestivalJapan ダルメイン世界マーマレードアワード＆フェスティバル日本大会 @yawatahama_marmalade_festival in Yawatahama, Ehime (in partnership with @marmaladeawards @dalemainmansion) is a celebration of #Japan’s own citrus preserving community, & owes much to Toichiro Nakashima: the legendary founder of our gold sponsor #アヲハタ #Aohata Marmalade (& also #kewpiemayo, I can understand that, I love both too).
Toichiro Nakashima studied in England, loved marmalade & boat races between @oxford_uni (with a blue flag in the bow of the boat) & @cambridgeuniversity. In 1932 he starts Kidoen Canning Co, preserving #Hiroshima citrus: and thus Blue Flag marmalade ( #アヲハタ #Aohata) was born!
