Tuesday 8th October, AM: Barm-making Demonstration. I’ll be resurrecting some vintage Australian #naturallyfermented bread methods I’ve unearthed from the 19th century, a #Tasmanian one using a potato ferment, a #Queensland one made using a hop-infused barm process, and one with #bananas ( do know of an Australian baker who has used bananas in his sourdough, but that’s another story).
Tuesday 8th October, PM: Out of the frying pan, into the oven. I’ll be joining a panel to talk about changing lanes in life: becoming a baker from an altogether different background, either early on or mid life. So if you’ve you’ve been thinking about quitting your job and becoming an artisan baker then join us to talk about the joys & perils of this full-time baking lark.
