Feeling very fortunate to be staying at #hotelkamogawasou, one of a few hotels near #aohatajamdeck outside Hiroshima, and still 30 minutes drive away. The huge hotel is a gem vast beautiful rooms, including an amazing Japanese breakfast and a truly fantastic onsen for only £90 a night. I went to the onsen at 6am and it was already busy, everyone naked (I was in the men-only onsen), first shaving and washing before soaking in the vast thermal spa, some pools very rustic weaving like a river along the rock wall but deep enough so you could sit fully submersed in the 40c mineral water; other pools had turbo bubbles or jets to massage you; others were outside in the cold air but with the water still at 40c; and then on ice-cold wooden plunge tub (which I used at the end). Would happily stay here on a holiday. And the fresh grilled sardine-like fish and the Hiroshima version of #okonomiyaki, with noodles inside and a slightly different sauce, were just so good for breakfast. And #nattō #納豆 of course
