Encouraged by Miyuki @orangelecura I decided to make two cakes to go in our afternoon tea bento boxes that were sold at the new outdoor @agoramarche cafe with the help of the @lionsclubs in Yawatahama, to raise money for charity. So I thought I’d make a #natsumikan version of my @goodfoodau triple lemon drizzle cake, and a Yorkshire gingerbread. However, finding we had no ground ginger, brown sugar or black treacle, I had to be inventive….
????
So I decided to made a black sesame cake with fresh ginger and slivers of carrot. Black sesame paste and honey gave the colour, black sesame seeds on top before baking, then a fresh ginger and honey syrup soaked into it before serving. I think there’s a new favourite recipe here!
