At the town hall there is the most extraordinary display of all the @yawatahama_marmalade_festival @marmaladeawards #marmaladefestivaljapan entries, nearly 2000 in total from 42 of the 47 prefectures in Japan. And yes, overwhelmed by the joy of it all again. Months back I’d sent over some sketches I’d made about how the hall could be decorated, grabbed a few clip art images of children’s drawings and wrote a suggestion that the school children in the area could be encouraged to paint their favourite citrus fruit from the 200 different varieties grown in #Ehime prefecture…and they did, and I tear’d up as you might, and they looked beautiful individually and as a collage. The involvement of the whole community in #yawatahama has been the most amazing this. As they say here it’s #happymarmalade
