At a local primary school in Honai, a town on the outskirts of Yawatahama City, Japan, around 500 children were having their own festival of marmalade to celebrate @yawatahama_marmalade_festival #happymarmalade #marmaladefestivaljapan , with parents baking #marmaladeshortbread and #marmaladepopcorn given to the children in small white paper bags at the school gate. The children have also prepared their own marmalade song, to be sung at the main festival weekend on the 18-19 May. The town encouraged the children to get involved as a thank you to the children from Stainton Church of England Primary School who sang for the Ambassador of Japan to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Ambassador Mr Koji Tsuruoka, on the 17th January this year.
