Also today I went for a return fanboy visit to @k_a_p_i_h_a_n bakery in Battersea with #panettoneartiginale maestro @gankimpoh. Ever since @msjessicamw introduced me to this bakery I have been thinking about it. Kicking myself that I didn’t get a photo of David Motley’s wife Plam who co-runs Kapihan (and snapped the picture of me here with David and his brother Nigel Motley), or their sister Rosemary Motley who makes the viennoiserie with Nigel. Ate a vast amount. The beautifully laminated croissant with the seeds on top here is filled with #kimchi and topped with honey. The Pan de Adobo Brioche buns are filled with braised pork shoulder favours with dark soy, ginger, garlic and bay. Ate a very soft “Spanish Bread” with #southcotabatochocolate and hazelnut paste inside, and chocolate sprinkled on top. Liked the #bibingka made with coconut baked in a banana leaf. WISH I’d tried the sweet avocado and #calamansi tart. Great coffee as always. And very busy.
