After watching Stacey @morningtoncrescenttokyo’ class

After watching Stacey @morningtoncrescenttokyo’ class we went on Stacey’s suggestion for a soba buckwheat noodle lunch at Azabu #Kawakamian In Tokyo., with one of the students, Sayoko Suzuki. The noodles are handmade at a workshop across the road and delivered in wooden boxes to the restaurant. Walked there with Stacey, Jane Hasell-McCosh @marmaladeawards @dalemainmansion, and Michael Perry @watercurtaincave. Beautiful warm afternoon, with the Tokyo streets very quiet due to this Golden Week and Reiwa holiday.

Started with a selection of little dishes: green soya bean tofu with black soya bean dressing; seaweed; bamboo shoot poached in burnt wheat broth with shaved bonito, tuna with roasted onions.

Then had vegetable tempura, kurumi soba (cold soba noodles, walnut sauce), and milk jelly for dessert.
????
Michael @watercurtaincave suggested we have sake, very good. Will try and find out more about it.
