15 min biryani brunch at Dubai Airport before the connecting flight. Piping hot mutton biryani (fresh from the kitchen), butter chicken, spinach dahl, paneer with mushrooms, soft thin pitta. Grabbed a mix of Arabic/Gulf-style sweets (eg made differently in some gulf bakeries to the Turkish way) to eat on the flight. I’d slept deeply for 6 hours on the flight from Phuket, and only had a mango for breakfast that I peeled and ate in bed at 5am, so felt too peckish to wait until the next flight. Biryani is surely one of the best comfort foods.
