Had some leftover maamoul #معمول_منقاش date filling leftover, from a recipe in the @comptoirlibanais book, and some leftover shortcrust pastry, with the last of some beautiful extraordinary #uae???????? dates that chef restaurateur @nfque had given me late last year, and thought I’d make them into a date and almond tart. But in my mind the perfect “…and almond tart” is always to be found at London restaurant @quovadissoho in Soho, and always thanks to the chef who knows his tarts, chef Jeremy Lee @jeremyleeqv. So I went tinkering to match the glorious macaroon-like almond mixture that tops Jeremy’s legendary tarts, and got pretty close. Had a slice just now with clotted cream and ice cream, and imagined myself at Quo Vadis for lunch ????
