Fuji Grand #株式会社フジ a large supermarket chain in Japan, is one of the key sponsors of the @yawatahama_marmalade_festival @marmaladeawards, and of course like any visitor who gets mesmerised by the differences in supermarkets around the world, it’s one of the first places I had to visit in #Yawatahama.

Must confess to getting slightly overwhelmed and a bit wet-eyed seeing the effort they’d put into supporting this first #marmaladefestivaljapan, I’d filmed and edited a short video about @dalemainmansion a few years ago and to see it played for the visitors here on a huge screen was very touching.

But back to Fuji Grand #株式会社フジ. Lots of small producers and local produce on sale, plus a stonking bakery with must-eat curious bakes on sale. One bread roll was almost like a delicate light-as-air round shell filled with soft cheese, shrimp and vegetables. I still can’t figure out how it’s made and baked.

Then at the checkout there’s a table just past it, where you can take your bag if groceries after paying and re-sort them so they’re neat and stable for the trip home. Especially loved this.
