As it’s raining ???? & ???? in Tokyo today, 54mm this morning, I wimped out and went to @dennysjp_official. Though I ordered the grilled salmon with tofu I got given #natto with it instead. Saw it n the menu and thought “not today” but hey, perhaps it was meant to be. You beat it with mustard and vinegar until the sticky fermented soya beans foam, then eat it as best you can without gagging (well at first, though the more times you eat it the experience softens into something like eating bitter liquorice, I found a little on some rice the best way to happily have it in the morning). It is hugely good at strengthening your gut flora so #natto is today.

Was thinking about the first Denny’s I went to, in LA around 1988, with the late #anngraves, @maxkimbee and John Fitzherbert, the restaurant manager had a gun on this hip, never seen that before.
