above: Victoria Garel-Jones writes "I attach a picture of my best small cake: a little prune and apple frangipane cake. Food styling by Sam, my 12-year-old nephew!" Would have happily eaten that for my breakfast.

above: Nicola Gooch writes, "They may not be much to look at, but these moist little cakes (made with ground almonds) are truly divine. We love them so much, I bake them heart-shaped. Here's one sitting on a plate decorated by my daughter for her dad's birthday."

above: Alison Bean has sent in her entry, a picture of a Frog Cake made by Balfour's bakery in Adelaide, South Australia and describes it as "Two cubes of sponge sandwiched with apricot jam, then topped with a scoop of butter cream, before being smoothered with an insane amount of green fondant icing. Details are added with the aid of a hot knife and a piping bag. The result is heaven."
